[UPDATE] As much as it pains me to say this (because I feel like an idiot): I was wrong in this post regarding the speeds. I was using an outdated modem. Comcast’s advertised “super speeds” utilize a new protocol that requires modems designated as DOCSIS 3.0 which enables faster transfer of data over the same lines (regular old coax cable).
